Postbox Letter to minister Through your columns I would like to thank all those who supported my petition to the Scottish Parliament, calling on the Government not to accept the main recommendations of the Shucksmith report on crofting. In all, 861 people signed the petition which has now been passed on to the Rural Affairs and Environment Committee and to the new Minister, Roseanna Cunningham. Two active crofters from the Uists, who supported the petition, have suggested that crofters also write a letter to the new Minister to appraise her that crofters are implacably opposed to the Shucksmith proposals.
