2007 Assynt Games roundup
A local lady remarked how
strange it was to have a Assynt Highland Games without Norman
A MacAskill, whose death occurred this year. But a surprisingly
fine day and a good natured crowd on August 10 saw to it that
the friendly games continued in the same mould that
Norman and his fellow Asainteachs established many years ago.
Chieftain Bertie Buchanan, who
carried out his duties with aplomb, was described by chairman
Sandy Johnston as the best whistler of 2/4 pipe marches hes
ever heard, praise indeed, coming from a piper!
