Catriona, from
Strathnaver, is a graduate of Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and the
University of Glasgow
A Gaelic speaker,
she has composed many tunes in the Highland idiom, and written
Gaelic songs, words and music
Until recently
a Gaelic-medium nursery assistant at Tongue Primary, where her
two children are pupils, Catriona has also taught Gaelic singing
and whistle in local schools in a scheme organised by Feis Cataibh.
She has recently been carrying out research for the Mackay Country
Project
Catriona is
a regular performer at local functions, and occasionally at venues
further afield, like T in the Park where she joined a Perthshire
band in the ceilidh tent. Recently, she appeared on Guthan nan
Gàidheal, Scotland's only Gaelic song TV programme |
